Hiiiiiii. :)
I'm Marissa (she/hers). Some folks call me Rizza, Misa, Ris, Mar-mar, Mo and I continue to welcome any and all new nicknames. I'm an actor and teaching artist hailing from sunny San Antonio, Texas and currently becoming a Brooklyn-ite. My familial roots are in the Caribbean islands of Curaçao and Carriacou.

My West Indian parents instilled in me a deep love of education from a young age so naturally I was drawn to higher education. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Studies with an associated study in Psychology from the University of Evansville as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the American Repertory Theater Institute at Harvard University. My reverance for education continues through teaching and I currently work as a teaching artist for New Victory Theater, MCC Theater and Theatre for a New Audience.

Outside of acting and teaching, what brings me the most joy is quality time with my friends and family (especially game nights), exploring surf spots around the world, and my mom's cooking - her shrimp and crab curry is a delight. 😋
